DGU Brasil: An Immersive Transmedia Installation in São Paulo
Original publication date: not confirmed in the archive.

Prepare to see reality differently. DGU Brasil is conceived not simply as an event but as an immersive gateway into the many layers of the Die Gotica Universe. This transmedia exhibition gives physical form to a world where past, present and future intertwine through art, music, cinema and technology.
At its heart, visitors become the centre of a constantly changing narrative. Moving between archaic screens and mysterious holograms, they encounter reality remaking itself. The exhibition embodies the idea at the centre of Cristiano Stern’s universe: where past meets future and fiction becomes reality.
Rather than merely presenting abstract ideas, the installation seeks to make them tangible. Scenes show Indigenous characters emerging victorious in colonial Brazil, sustained by energy from unknown artefacts. That mysterious force echoes through time into the Second World War, the Vargas era and the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, inviting visitors to reconsider history itself. Temporal manipulation, driven by technologies such as the enigmatic Die Glocke, is one of the DGU’s central pillars.
The temporal vortex takes shape in eclectic, eccentric environments, sometimes with a distinctly haunted atmosphere. This physical expression of time travel evokes the possibilities and paradoxes of disturbing chronology.
Paintings by Brazilian artists enrich an environment that shifts between dystopian, claustrophobic and potentially liberating futures. Among these intersecting stories, VAL—Vita Artificialis Lucis, a biotechnological artificial intelligence—silently observes the intricate webs of time woven by the chrononaut Fates. Her presence deepens the experience of watching those temporal threads unfold.
DGU Brasil reinforces the universe’s connection with Brazil, already explored in the journal’s accounts of the Popess of Rio and other local elements. It gives form to the possibilities of alternate histories. Its promise is a gateway to realities visitors may never have imagined: an encounter with a rich narrative tapestry in which the boundaries between time and reality dissolve.
The original announcement scheduled the event for September 2026. This archived text preserves that announced plan; it does not confirm that the event subsequently took place.
