Original publication date: not confirmed in the archive.

Hello, DGU explorers. Here is the kind of news that makes the ground tremble and time bend. As your correspondent in this extraordinary universe, I am delighted to announce the arrival of the scripts for the first three episodes of a new series: Die Gotica.
The original scripts, developed through the creative collaboration of Cristiano Stern and Fabrice Murgia around 2018, are now available for production. Prepare for a journey that promises to take your breath away.
I had the privilege of reading these pages and emerged with my mind racing. Die Gotica plunges into temporal paradoxes, secrets buried in the Second World War and the tangled relationships of people under extreme pressure.

What is the series about?
Imagine waking not merely on another day but in another era. That is what happens to Monica. She wakes in Trieste—but not the city she knew. The year is 2018. The air no longer carries the sounds and tensions of war. To her astonishment, she meets her mother, Elena, whom she believed had died decades earlier.
That miraculous reunion is only the beginning. Monica discovers that her past, present and future are bound to a terrifying secret Nazi project called Die Glocke, a device capable of distorting reality itself. Nor is she alone at this temporal crossroads. A relentless threat from her own future is pursuing her, determined to control the bell’s power—or destroy her.
What to expect
- Temporal suspense: the narrative moves through Europe in 1944 and 2018, with glimpses of dystopian futures. Who is manipulating whom? What is real? Can the past be changed without destroying the future?
- Action and intrigue: pursuits, encounters with the Gestapo, desperate escapes and an enemy seemingly always one step ahead.
- Human drama: Monica’s reunion with her parents is charged with emotion, suspicion and secrets. Lorenzo, Claudia and Leandro’s relationships are equally complicated, marked by lies, divided loyalties and the struggle to survive.
- Historical mystery: the series explores the dark mythology of Die Glocke, the Ahnenerbe and the hidden ambitions of the Third Reich, combining science fiction with a tangible, frightening historical setting.
A new pillar of the DGU
Partly filmed in Italy and Brazil before the pandemic, Die Gotica is intended as a new addition to historical fiction and suspense. Its characters, intricate plot and bold premise open up a wide range of narrative possibilities.
Authentic Tuscan locations ground the story in the places where history unfolded. Fortifications around Monte Pittone and the Gothic Line battlefields at Brancoli witnessed the Brazilian Expeditionary Force’s struggle to liberate Italy from Axis troops. Collaboration with Simone Micheli, president of the Comitato Linea Gotica Brancoli, and the Museo della Memoria supports the production’s historical detail, from battlefield reconstruction to costumes and props.
The bell began ringing in Trieste in 1944. Its echoes now travel across the DGU. Stay with us for more news.
Until the next rift in time…
